Lead with Generosity: My Single Mom Scholarship takes flight

This is my Daughter at my Gym in Boise A2O Fitness about 10 years ago. I was a struggling single mom.

It was about ten years ago. My daughter Lainee was no more than 2 or 3.  I owned a seemingly successful gym in Boise Idaho. It was successful for the clients, but I was working 14 hour days and we were living in my friends basement. I was pretending because I was embarrassed. I remember it was early like 6 am dark and cold and she was on my hip. I had $2 in change in my pocket and I was staring at the 1/2 gallon of milk at Winco trying to calculate in my head how many times she could have milk if I watered it down. Which wasn't easy because I hadn't eaten for two days. Not on purpose but because it was a choice of her eating or me eating.. I started sobbing uncontrollably in Winco. Sat on the floor with her and cried. In that moment I decided to never feel that way again and I haven't. In that moment I also decided I was going to start a a non profit one day for single moms. Well this is a start. I will be giving a scholarship away for every 5 week challenge I offer to a single mom. To apply click at the bottom of the page. The next 5 week challenge begins October 29th. All entries must be received by October 27th.
